The franchise of business leadership – Which country has more ethical business leadership: Canada, the US, or Egypt?

Articles are incessantly posted on social media by experts demonstrating their insights in leadership skills and explaining to the audience, in return for a few likes, how to become a business leader, or what are the attributes of business leadership.


The main clientele for the franchise of business leadership articles are people who desire to climb up the corporate ladder to advance their career, earn more income and affluence.


Academic environments define leadership as "a process of social influence in which a person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common and ethical task"

The Ethics & Compliance Initiative (ECI) has conducted a longitudinal, cross-sectional study of workplace conduct from the employee’s perspective.  Its latest 2023 Global Business Ethics Survey report is available that this link: www-ethics-org-gbes-2023-Final.pdf


In 2022, workplaces with the strongest ethical cultures (based on employees’ perceptions) appear in Egypt (23%), Colombia (23%) and Brazil (22%), while South Korea (3%) and Japan (4%) are among the lowest.   Canada scores 13% and the US scores 19%.
